Foundation of Trust
Learning and growth does not happen in isolation. Teachers need others to help them understand where they can improve and to work with them to analyze what has been tried and tested. In order for feedback to be effective, a trusted relationship must be in place between the teacher and feedback source. When this relationship exists, the feedback source knows the context in which they are giving feedback and is able to offer feedback that is relevant, specific and actionable. A foundation of trust enables a continuous feedback dialogue where teachers feels comfortable asking for clarity and follow-up and feedback sources are genuinely invested in learning and growth.
